join the club,i did for many years.two solutions.one is to use antifungal cream for about 2 full weeks to get rid of every spore.next when you feel the slightest symptom douch with diluted betadine solution(make it up to a light tea colour)this is a brown antiseptic antifungal, iodine product available in australia, its probably called something else in your country.i fill the bottle with warm water then add afew drops of betadine, put funnel onto bottle, insert and squeeze.its safe and it stops thrush in its tracks.I had it for two years after my second baby but now i probably get it once or twice a year.It could be hormonal .cheers

Oral Thrush Home Remedies – The Infection of Mouth
Oral Thrush Home Remedies – The Infection of Mouth
An oral thrush is basically the infection of the mouth caused by a fungus called the Candida albicans. It is characterized by furry white plaques that adhere to the mucous membranes around the oral cavity. These plaques, if left untreated, may form bigger patches to ulcerations. These areas may include the tongue, which may bleed when it is scraped; the outer lips, which may appear cracked; or the gums and buccal cavity. Transmission of the bacteria may be from mouth – to – mouth transmission, or from concomitant diaper rash.
To diagnose that the oral thrush is indeed caused by the fungus Candida albicans a wet smear may be done. The procedure of choice to confirm the presence of Candida albicans is to culture the sample.
Typical signs and symptoms may be pain and sensitivity. There may also be a decrease in the patient’s appetite. Irritability may also be evident with both adult and pediatric patients. If the patient is an infant and is breastfeeding, the mother’s nipples may appear sore and red.
There are a number of treatments that a physician may offer the patient’s watcher or the patient. A topical antifungal may be prescribed fro the diaper rash of the child. Treatment of the nipples may also be done for the prevention of another infection when planning to continue breastfeeding. The treatment can include the usage of nystatinn powder or a cream containing ciclopirox or an azole. Oral antifungals may also be administered. Generally a nystatin oral solution is administered. Instruct on the proper administration of antifungals and the site it is to be applied to. Studies has also shown that the use of clotrimazole troches is more convenient and effective when taken five times a day than with the use of a nystatin oral solution. For infections unresponsive to nystatin oral solutions then Gentian violet may be applied. Application of the medication should be done after eating or at least 20 minutes before feeding. Before administration, inform the parent or the patient that the medication will most probably stain clothing, teeth, and surrounding skin. Though it is washable when it stains body surfaces, though it may take some time to remove them, it might not hold true when clothing is stained. Washing nipples, pacifiers, baby bottles is also recommended to reduce or avoid the chance of reinfection.

Natural Treatment for Thrush – Remedies That Can Be Easily Made
Natural Treatment for Thrush – Remedies That Can Be Easily Made
Treatment for thrush must be chosen carefully; after all, this is a condition that often affects infants and we all know that babies are sensitive when it comes to taking medications. Women who have babies should take note of such natural remedies to avoid potential side effects on their children.
Home cures for thrush can be easily prepared and are relatively safe since most of them are made from herbal and natural ingredients. If any member of the family is suffering from oral Candidiasis or thrush, here are some treatment options that can be easily made at home.
Yogurt
Eating a cup of unsweetened yogurt everyday will help prevent thrush from developing. This is not only good for curing thrush but is also effective in other types of Candidiasis, particularly vaginal yeast infection. Women with vaginal Candida infection can either eat it or use a tampon dipped in yogurt and insert it in the vagina.
Ginger
Ginger juice mixed with hot water can sooth tongue soreness and is also effective in getting rid of oral thrush. For infants, a mild solution should be made using warm water since ginger can be hot on the mouth. If the patient cannot take an almost-pure ginger drink, mix a thumb-size, crushed ginger with tea and make it an afternoon or evening refreshment.
Calendula or marigold
Crushed calendula mixed with tea can also cure thrush. A purer remedy can be made by using a dropper and dripping the solution on the tongue and areas of the mouth where the white curd-like substance – a common symptom of oral Candidiasis – is found.
Baking soda
A single teaspoon of baking soda diluted on water is also a highly recommended home cure for oral yeast infection. Soak a cotton ball in the solution and swab the tongue and the insides of the mouth to treat thrush. For women who breastfeed, the remedy should also be used to swab the breasts, particularly the nipples and the areas around the areola to make sure that the infection will not be transmitted to the baby.
Vinegar
For adults suffering from thrush or yeast infection in other parts of the body, dabbing a vinegar-soaked cotton ball on the affected areas will greatly help alleviate the burning sensation and itchiness. If it will be used on a baby, mixed it with a small amount of water to lessen the sour taste and to make it easier for the baby to take it.
Home treatment for thrush is relatively safe and most options are highly effective. If you don’t like taking chances with over the counter remedies, particularly for your baby, using a natural cure is a good alternative.
