Question by HondaRGurl: Another question about the thrush?
Ok since almost everyone agreed that this nystatin doesnt work should i take him back to the doctor since its been almost a week and half and the medicines going to be gone tomorrow. he’s also developing a diaper rash which im affraid is the thrush and he has a nasty rash under his neck that hes gotten in the past day.
The rash under his neck is very read and sort of puffy not sure if its from him drooling from teething ( hes 5 months old) and im not sure about the diaper rash. He’s just barely got it so i put calmoseptine on it. He’s just got a bunch of little red bumbs on his butt and on the front above his penis. And i have heard of the thrush spreading to an awful diaper rash. But i was wondering if i should take him back for some medicine under the neck and the diaper rash and would it be a bad idea to ask to switch his medicine to the diflican ( i think thats how you spell it) im a first time mom dont know what i should do and i dont really have much in help raising my son. Answers are very appreciated

Question by Tiffany S: How long before I see results when treating thrush with newborn?
My poor 5 week old had a yeast diaper rash since he was 2 weeks. Doctor figured I was applying the cream wrong, which is why it didn’t go away. Upon recently researching my nipple pain after nursing, we now realize he has thrush. (Explains why that rash wouldn’t go away(!).
On Tuesday we started medication. Nystatin drops for his mouth, canestan on his bum, and prescribed cream for my nipples.
How long before I see some improvement? The doctor didn’t say. I’ve mixed things on Nystatin…
Thank you!
