how to get rid of thrush in babies?

Question by Bre’Onna: how to get rid of thrush in babies?

Answer by MamaJama
Sorry – needs to be taken care of by a doctor and fast.
Urine is sterile, but if you do disposables – the diaper is full of chemicals that have been proven to cause cancer. They don’t “think” it causes cancer – it does. Fact. Do NOT put that near your baby’s mouth.

Are You Suffering Thrush Symptoms?

Are You Suffering Thrush Symptoms?

Thrush is an infection, caused by a fungus called Candida. Basically, it is yeast and it thrives in warm and moist conditions. Usually it lives on the skin, in the vagina, in the gut or the mouth without doing harm. The immune system and healthy bacteria usually keep it under control. However, sometimes the conditions change, and this allows the yeast to overgrow, thus causing thrush. Here are some of the typical symptoms of thrush.

Thrush infections are typically more common in women than men. Symptoms of thrush in women include pain when urinating, pain during intercourse, and thick white discharge from the vagina that smells yeasty and looks of cottage cheese and itching, soreness and redness around the vagina, vulva or anus.

Candidiasis Diet: The Foods To Consume For The Treatment Of Yeast Infection

When you think that yeast infection is something that you only get from direct contact with someone who has it, and then think again. There are a number of possible reasons behind yeast infection. Some of the options include applying oral contraceptive pills, using oral steroids, about to get your period, being a diabetic, use of applications like soap, douche, hygiene products, and being dressed in tight, damp, and/or warm apparel. There are a number of treatments to deal with the infection. But unknown to some, obtaining correct diet to take care of yeast infection is also vital.

Detoxing, that is the right term in relation to a yeast infection diet. Yeast infection is a result of an overgrowth in some areas of an all natural occurring microorganism, or Candida albicans as it is known in the scientific community. There might be some variations in the suggested diet but most often than not, with a strict adherence on the regimen, it is easier to go through some relief from the infectionin as early as three weeks.

One of the standard necessities in diet programs is drinking adequate amounts of water. Water is an important aspect of detoxing. It helps flush out the waste inside body. Many experts have also suggested that fresh fruit juices and even green tea be increased to the liquid intake. But emphasis is given to drinking at least eight glasses of water daily.

It is also important to eat food that is fresh. It would be best to avoid processed and absolutely fatty foods, not just for your yeast infection but for your general health too. Don’t overcook your food too. Foods have a tendency to loose much of its vitamins and minerals when heat is used so make sure you cook your food just right. Steamed and sautéed would be the ideal cooking preparations. Vegetables do not need cooking, just make it a salad and you’re ready to go. However, we do suggest that you avoid eating sweet vegetables like carrots, corn, potatoes, onions, and sweet potatoes.

Eat lots of garlic. Garlic consists of antibacterial properties which assist in eliminating the overgrowth of yeast. Be generous using your fresh greens and limit your intake of meat. Fish, beef, lamb, poultry and eggs are alright in moderation. It has been suggested that the ideal serving of meat should be no larger than half the size of the palm. Adding more to the portion could be too asking to your digestive organs.

Sometimes there are other foods that you would like to include in what you eat. Eating the meals you like will not affect much your diet as long as you consume them moderately and in relatively small portions. Yogurt is something that one could add as well as small servings of brown rice or buckwheat.

For condiments, sea salt is ok and also pure virgin olive oil. In fact, you may be liberal with the use of olive oil. Fresh ginger can be a good condiment on your yeast issue as well. Plus you can use it in numerous dishes like salads, tofu, meat dishes, and soups. It doesn’t only contain properties that may help deal with the infection, but it is generally good on your digestion as well.

An excellent diet to deal with yeast infection is a necessary step within the general treatment of the infection. You must learn how to be healthy when it comes to your hygiene and what food you’re eating.

Getting To Know Candidiasis Better

Getting To Know Candidiasis Better

Caused due to an overgrowth of microscopic fungi known as Candida, which is present on most of the body surfaces, yeast infection has come to be known as Candidiasis in medical parlance. The condition mostly manifests in warm and moist body areas which offer a most conducive environment for unhealthy growth of the yeast. If there are any cuts or the skin is cracking near any of these vulnerable areas, it can allow yeast to penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream which can be an even more serious manifestation of this yeast infection.

Usually, the unwanted growth of these microscopic fungi can lead to a variety of oral, vaginal and skin candidal infections in the human body. Though a number of medications and try-at-home treatments are available to cure a yeast infection, experts suggest not taking yeast infection lightly in the least sense. If left uncared for, the yeast infection can become difficult to treat and even presents the threat of systemic candidal infection in which it spreads to most of the body surfaces with adverse effects.

Usually persons with weaker than average immune system are vulnerable to systemic candidal infections where even internal organs may be exposed to the infection. However, most of the time Candidias might manifest in the form of superficial skin or oral infection with whitish patches and scales forming in the affected areas. If you are wondering how to get rid of a yeast infection, there is a whole range of self-help treatments and over-the-counter medications available to help in the same. However, like any other infection, personal hygiene is one of the guiding principles to follow when dealing with yeast infection.

If you are suffering from oral candidiasis or thrush, as it is known, it is advised to not try removing the whitish scales on your tongue or palate, as it can lead to bleeding of the internal tissue and also offer the yeast passage to your bloodstream which only worsens the situation. Use some antifungal agent like nystatin to cleanse your mouth and adults can also take antifungal lozenges or other yeast infection medication to deal with the same. Good oral hygiene is the basic requirement in all situations.

Children are more vulnerable to skin and diaper rashes which can be treated effectively with use of barrier creams, personal hygiene and frequent diaper changes. Clotrimazole cream or lotions can also be applied to the affected area to remove irritation, itching and diaper rashes. If one keeps in mind that any skin folds and greasy areas which offer a warm and moist environment for growth of the fungi are more vulnerable to the condition and that maintaining good hygiene is an effective antidote to cure a yeast infection, it can help prevent most forms of the infection quite easily.

Vaginal yeast infections lead to whitish discharges, irritation and itching in outer tissues surrounding vaginal region. In studies, nearly 20-50% of the women are found to have yeast in their vagina and it is only when abnormal growth of Candida albicans leads to infection that symptoms like itching, vaginal inflammation and discharge become all too apparent. For women wondering about how to get rid of a yeast infection in vagina, it is highly recommended to go in for a through clinical examination to confirm the presence of the same in the first place before resorting to any of the over-the-counter medications available for the same.

The reason for this is that studies have revealed that most women start self-medication for vaginal yeast infection on the first appearance of associated symptoms when they might be suffering from some other kind of vaginal infection. Bacterial vaginosis, a bacterial infection, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis and Chlamydia could be some of the other culprits which might lead to vaginal discharges and other symptoms similar in appearance to vaginal yeast infection. If despite taking yeast infection medication, vaginal discharge continues for more than a week, it is must to see a doctor.

In persons with systemic candidal infections, if it is suspected to have spread to some internal organs, it is advisable to undergo comprehensive medical examination to confirm the same. One of the worst possibilities could be that of Candidiasis spreading to the brain, which can even lead to abnormal behaviour by interrupting with its normal functioning. Persons using urinary catheters and IV ports also run the risk of yeast infection finding a passage to their bloodstream and affecting internal organs. In such instances, it might be required to undergo invasive tests and culture tests of the specimens obtained for confirming the diagnosis followed by hospitalization to help prevent the worst.
